Forbidden Fruit
Fig Branch

Welcome to The Fig Branch. This site is about Knowledge, so we thought it fitting to name the site after the forbidden tree of knowledge. Yes figs are the number one candidate for the forbidden fruit, from the tree of knowledge. Apples did not exist anywhere near the region that we believe the Garden of Eden was in. Apples were added to the story when it was translated into Latin. Perhaps as a joke, or a play on words, as apple could also mean evil in Latin. Think about it, they covered themselves with fig leaves once they had eaten the fruit. Fig trees are prominent in the region. The honorable mention goes to the pomegranate, although this is more of shrub than a tree. See we are already exciting your gray matter.

This site is all about thinking. Cutting edge scientific discoveries, theories, and new technology. We will cover a large number of subjects. If you have a subject that we do not yet have added, please let us know.

We know that great scientific discovery is not always made by scientist. We invite scientist to participate in our site, and in particular the debates we will hold. Yes, we will hold debates when more than one theory on a subject is presented, or when the existing acccepted theory is challenged. You may ask questions, or challenge a theory. As a member, you may submit your theories, and/or ideas. Commenting on any content here will not require registration. If you choose to register you can do so for free. We have an instant messaging system so that other members may contact you, and you will be able to access features of the site that non-members cannot access, and recieve updates on subjects in your email.

At the time I am writing this, the site is brand new. I have a blog about science and kind of morphed it into this site so that members could participate at a higher level. If you are like me, you watch the Science Channel, the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, National Geographic, and others on a regular basis. You consume knowledge like a baby sucking on a bottle of milk. Science pulses in your veins, no matter if you have a science degree, or even completed college. You have a mind, a mind that ask the most important question of all... Why? Some will call us weekend scientist, scientist wannabe, and amateur scientist. Do not be daunted! Use the gray matter incaged within your cranium!

"I am somehow less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops." - Stephen Jay Gould

We also invite the experts, or the "real Scientist" to participate, In fact we challenge them to participate! Those that understand this quote:

"Scientific knowledge is in perpetual evolution; it finds itself changed from one day to the next." - Jean Piaget

We may just have the next great scientific discovery, right here waiting to be published to the world.

If you have a burning passion for science, then please join our site. Be one of the first to join, and create your own articles, theories, or ideas for scrutiny. Volunteer to be an admin, or a moderator. (sorry no pay involved at this time). We will add features as we go. Expand the site as more information is presented. We will hold debates and discussion that can not be done watching t.v. . Don't be afraid to present your idea.

"The increase of scientific knowledge lies not only in the occasional milestones of science, but in the efforts of the very large body of men who with love and devotion observe and study nature." - Polykarp Kusch

Maybe you watched a documentary, or read a scientific article, and now there is a question burning in your mind. Ask it, maybe one of our readers, or subscribers have an answer.

Some ideas require more than one brain, open your idea to discussion, somone may provide you with that eureka moment.
